Poor pickup experience, they tried to give me a small class vehicle than I booked. The agent would not listen and she was dismissive and rude. They blamed kayak for the error

ALL THE INFORMATION (TELEPHONE NUMBER, AND THAT IT WAS OFF SITE) THAT CAME FROM WEBSITE I MADE RESERVATION, WERE INCORRECT. NO 24 HRS CUSTOMER SERVICE.. FLT WAS LATE AN CUSTOMER COUNTER WAS CLOSE.

From pick up through drop off, it was a painless experience. Pickup in MIA was a notably pleasurable interaction with Budget staff!

After reserving my car, taking a train from Fort Lauderdale to Miami so I could pick up a car and drive 4 hours to my flight in Orlando, then waiting an hour in line at Budget, I was told that I would need to use a credit card rather than my debit card because I "didn't pass a soft credit check." This was not apparent when I made the reservation. Missed my flight. The guy at the desk I talked to was cold and unhelpful.

Hidden costs compared to the quote mentioned on Kayak Hidden costs included over $40 in taxes (federal and state), as well as a requirement to pay to protect the car despite buying car protection on kayak. The original price was quoted on kayak to be $90 and the actual price was closer to $150

The pickup process was painful. Lineup took forever and even though I had a reservation my car wasn’t ready so I had to wait even longer.
