They did not have a car for me, even after renting the car online on May 31st. I was given a number to call and they searched the other locations and they "had" some at DFW International airport. Once I arrived to the airport I was greeted by a rude employee behind the counter that told me that even if they had a car to give me that it would be a price increase. I told them that just a few hours before I spoke with someone and they were to note my reservation that the cost was to stay the same and all I was doing was picking up at a location that showed cars available. When departing the location there were a line of unhappy guests in the same problem as I was in. I ended up having to search and found a rental but it was with a different company.

Waited for nearly an hour after arriving at the Payless rental area. They were understaffed and slow. My first car had a broken seat, broken USB port, smelled like smoke, was dirty, and covered in scratches. They offered me a smaller car immediately, which I had to take because I was late to an appointment after waiting too long. Will not use them, or Avis or Budget ever again.

The pick-up in Dallas was horrendous! The line was about 10-12 deep when we started standing in it. There was only one person at the desk and about 1.5 hours later we were able to pick up the car. There should have been at least 2 persons working the desk! Due to the delay in getting the car, we missed the family dinner that we were in Dallas to enjoy! I'll never rent another car without registering for a quick pick-up/fly through!

I was overcharged for fuel. Staff said I’d pay $3.50 per gallon if I had them fill the tank when I returned the car. I was charged that, plus an additional amount more than $60 for something related to fueling the car. No one mentioned having them fuel the car would cost me more than $60 in addition to the fuel price. That was corrupt. The car was disgustingly filthy inside and out, but I didn’t have time to be picky, so I took it. There is no way on earth that car was cleaned at all between renters. Bits of food in the seats and ground into the carpet. Sticky drink spills on three of the seats. Some stain on the ceiling above the driver??? A used paper napkin stuffed into a drink holder. Just foul.

They told me no cars were available at the reserved time. They tried telling me my reservation was for 10:30 when the paperwork clearly showed 9:00am. They made me wait and then began giving cars to other customers until I spoke with three different Hertz employees which took me an hour to get my car.

The manager told me that it would be difficult to find a car for me even though i had a reservation and a confirmation number. “We shouldnt have guaranteed you a car since you are not dropping it off here.” Not sure why he said any of this since i had a confirmation number.

Price was good but everything else was poor. No cars in reservation size or larger were available when arrived. Was told to go to the next level only to find that many of the cars were missing keys. The only car of our reservation size was in poor condition, abandoned vehicle sticker, marks on the outside everywhere, severe oversteering, and gas tank wasn't full.

We had to cancel our reservation and get another car from another agency. We we went to the desk to get our car we were told it was going to be a 2-3hr wait for a car to be available to us. No explanations why other than there were none ready and we had to get in line with everyone else and when one became available then we could have it. There were no notices sent out of info given it was just a show up and wait. I don't mind waiting some times, I get it, but 2-3 hours is a bit much.

Oil change warning in the car came on, and customer service told me to have the oil changed and be reimbursed. Drop-off agent told me I violated protocol and shouldn’t have changed the oil (and paid for it out of pocket), all while typing and not making eye contact. I was then threatened with the $450 cleaning fee - which I didn’t violate. I’ll never rent from Avis again. Terrible experience.

I rented an S-Class vehicle. It was not available when I arrived at the DFW counter. The rental agent gave me a sub-class car without telling me. It was also filthy. You could hardly see out the windshield. It had 70,000 miles on it, a Buick Encore. The steering was not perfect and after a good rainstorm it had a big scratch on the side. I was disappointed. It felt like a bait and switch. The details of the contract need to be fulfilled accurately, Avis, or it leads to a negative experience. Thank you.

Bad experience. They gave me a car without extra tire( inside) I had a flat tire Road assistant couldn’t help me. I return The car before the due date because I had flat tire and they didn’t refund me anything even though my Uber money back . Very sad
