Cheap Car Rentals in Louisiana

The brand new vehicle broke down in the middle of a freeway in the middle of the storm. The help desk told us to take our luggage and walk to the nearest exit, and that we would be responsible for leaving the vehicle behind and any damages as a result thereof. It was an east European sounding outsourced agent. We managed to get the vehicle off the freeway and get a tow truck to take it away and someone to drive 75 miles to come pick us up. Really scary experience and very poor service

They charged me extra fees that were not disclosed

Got a new rental but the car was not washed. Sticker residue left on windshield. But overall it was a very nice car. I believe I left some items in the car. Car charger and earbuds.

Hertz didn’t let me know in advance that there wasn’t any cars available to pick up at their location.

The customer service at that location isn’t the best.

Having a reservation does not mean you will actually get a car! I made the reservation and had my confirmation number for the vehicle that I needed and I was there early to pick it up and I was told that they do not have any vehicles for me to take. I was scheduled to leave for a 10 hour drive from Hertz and this set my entire business trip off schedule.

We booked for a convertible and did not get that

On the whole, our experience was positive. I was disappointed however that we were told the vehicle we'd be renting had 7/8 of a full tank and that we should be returning the vehicle with the same amount of fuel. Filling a tank to 7/8 can of course be problematic and not as straight forward as filling a full tank. When we took off with the vehicle we noticed that it wasn't 7/8 full but rather 1/8 full and the gas light came on about 30 min after having left the rental location. We captured this information and tried to contact the rental location to explain the situation, but nobody was available to take our call. Needless to say we returned the vehicle with 7/8 of a full tank and asked the second location if we could be reimbursed the cost of the difference between 1/8 and 7/8 of a full tank. We were told that unfortunately there was nothing they could do but to contact customer service. When I contacted customer service and explained the situation I was reimbursed $50.00 for our troubles. So all-in-all a good experience, but could have been better. Would know better for next time and would still rent with AVIS.

Support local companies! If you rent a car in NO, you need to take the shuttle to the rental car agency lot. Ace is just across the street from the big companies. Their prices are far better and the personal experience is nice. Once in the rental lot, Steve came to pick us up immediately. He shuttled us over to the Ace lot and within minutes I was driving away with just what I wanted. Location and accessibility was easy and convenient. Return of car just as easy. I will always rent from Ace while in NO. Thank you Steve.

Location has geographic and mileage restrictions not advertised on booking site, had to rebook my rental through a diff company

Didn’t appreciate a $60.24 car rental to be $190.94 for under 24 hour car rental returned with full gas and 30 minutes early! Ridiculous!! And to get a refund, I have to submit receipts and couldn’t even talk to a customer service representative. Sorry business behavior.

I waited an hour for my car after checking in.

There are a couple of staff members (blanking on their names) that really seem to care about getting you your car as quick as possible which I truly appreciated
