This was Avis at puerto Vallarta airport. Regular size car. The line was extremely slow and staff moved very slowly. Took an hour to get the car with only 1 person ahead of me. Price was ok but I declined insurance since my credit card and auto insurance policy cover the car. They insisted on putting a $4200 hold on my credit card in case there was any damage- even a scratch. Crazy. Won’t rent there again.

The insurance they tried to charge us was more than the rental rate for the car. We cancelled our reservation.

The service was incredibly slow. Pick up took over 30 minutes and drop off was longer. The price was quoted in Canadian dollars but charged in American. Overall, very dissatisfied.

I opted for the full coverage insurance and was told that the total would be $490. After returning the car, the total was $630. Not only was this place completely dishonest, they couldn't have been in any less of a hurry. Took us over an hour to get checked in and almost an hour to return the car.
